Kiril Bozhkov was born in 1964 in the village of Novi Han, Sofia district. He graduated from the National Art School in 1983 and Nikolay Pavlovich in 1991 (specialty "Fresco"). Since 1996, he has worked as a lecturer at the Painting Department of the National Academy of Arts. He is currently a PhD Associate Professor, Head of Atelier. He has more than 60 solo exhibitions and over 200 participations in collective exhibitions in the country and abroad. In 2012, he defended a dissertation entitled "New Parameters of the Virtuosity Imagination in Figure Painting in the 20th Century", published under the title "Virtuosity and Painting" (National Academy of Fine Arts, 2014). In the period 2009 - 2013 his wife owns "Art Gallery Kiril Bozhkov", Sofia.
Kiril Bozhkov is the winner of the title "Knight of the Brush" 2013. The artist receives:
- Third prize at the International Fabriano Festival in Acquarello 2016 in Italy
- Best International Watercolor Award at I International Art Festival 2016 - Bangladesh
- The Great Prize for Contribution to the Development of the World Watercolor Art of IWS Bulgaria - International Triennale of Watercolor Varna 2016
- First place for the best portrait of 2nd Tirana International Watercolor Biennale 2017
