BIOGRAPHICAL REFERENCE:
Ivan Obretenov was born on April 2, 1948 in Varna. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of St. Kliment Ohridski". He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. He showed his paintings in collective international exhibitions in Berlin 1983, Moscow 1983, Gdansk 1986, Prague 1987, Aosta 1988, Toronto (1989, 1990, 1991), "Gagliardi design" gallery London 1992, "Drouot" Paris 1991, Dom Widgenstein Vienna 1997. It was included in the Dutch collection "1001 Reasons to Love the Earth". Participated in European art exhibitions presented by "EVEart" Budapest gallery in Line art 1997, 1998 Ghent, Belgium, St`art 1998 Strasbourg, France, Art Jonction 1998 Nice, France. Participated in the visual arts festival "August in Art" 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008. Ivan participated in the Balkan Quadrianale "Legendite" 2008 Stara Zagora, in Sofia City Gallery "The Self Portrait" 2008, in the open air at the SBH in Ilindenci 2012, Salon of Varna artists in the "Graffiti" gallery 2012, 2013, 2014, in the seventh biennale of small forms 2014 Pleven, in the International Miniature Exhibition 2015 Ruse, in the Collection Joachim u.
