Ivan Stratiev was born in 1960 in the town of Trun, Bulgaria. In 1984 he graduated from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo, specializing in graphic design.
He has participated in a number of exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. He has more than 30 solo exhibitions in Sofia, Varna, Prague, Vienna, Zurich and others.
His works are owned by galleries and private collections in many countries around the world. Works mostly oil painting and watercolor, as well as graphic techniques lithography and etching.
His art is figurative - from realism through hypermanism and surrealism to anachronism. Conceptual actions, installations and performances have been realized.
