Plamen Monev lives and works in Varna. He graduated from the Art High School in Kazanlak, and in 1988 from the National Academy of Arts - Sofia, majoring in painting. Works in the field of painting, graphics, illustration. According to his project, the mosaic icon of the patron of the city St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, at the lighthouse in the port of Varna. Over the past 25 years, he has held more than 20 exhibitions in Varna, both in the Varna City Art Gallery and in various private galleries in the country, and has also received international recognition with his successful solo exhibitions and participation in Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Russia, Germany, Great Britain , USA, Canada, etc. His works are owned by the National Art Gallery in Sofia, the City Art Gallery in Varna, private collectors from Bulgaria, Europe, Russia and the USA. Its panels and the color solution of the space give the appearance of the Museum for young and old opened in 2013 at RIM - Varna. Awarded in 2021 with the "Varna" award in the field of visual arts.

• 1989, 1993 - International Biennial of Graphics - Varna; 1989 - 1991 - Toronto, Canada; 1991 - Gabrovo; 1993 - Maastricht, the Netherlands; 1993 - Strasbourg, France; 1994 - Krakow, Poland; 1994 - Belgrade; 1994 - Schaffhausen, Switzerland, 1995 - Sofia and Ljubljana, Slovenia, 1998 and 2001 - Varna.
• In 1993 he was awarded the Prize of the World Foundation at the VII International Biennial of Graphics - Varna, and in 2016 - with the Schminke Prize at the First Edition of the International Triennial of Watercolor.
• The drawings and historical reconstructions made by him gave the appearance and the interior solution of the museum "For young and old", part of the "Archaeological Museum of Varna".
• According to his project is the mosaic icon of the patron saint of the city St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, at the lighthouse in the port of Varna. He also received public recognition in 2021, when he was awarded the prestigious Varna Prize in the field of visual arts.
