Vasil Marinov

Vasil Marinov

Born December 12, 1879 in Stara Zagora. After graduating from the Academy of Arts in Sofia (1897 - 1904) he returned as a teacher in his hometown. In 1911 he became one of the founders of the Society of Southern Bulgarian Artists.

Works in the field of genre painting and landscape. During the wars he painted many compositions from the front, which he presented at exhibitions in Stara Zagora in 1916 and 1917.

In the 30s and 40s of the twentieth century, he created his most significant household compositions and landscapes, including Kozarche, The Fountain, Pledduvane and others. He participates actively in collective exhibitions and presents himself with seven independent exposition. 

He died suddenly on 2 August 1943 in Pirdop.
